A hand-drawn concept sketch c. 1961 showing the bronze statue Talos from the Don Chaffey fantasy-adventure Jason and the Argonauts. This image was created by legendary visual effects artist Ray Harryhausen and depicts one of the most famous sequences from the film – the giant bronze statue Talos, rising up from its plinth after Hercules (Nigel Green) steals from the treasure chamber below. The sketch is executed in pencil on paper, with a black ink border. The artwork displays some minor wear, including two small tears to the edges.
