Grand Cordon Set, instituted in 1831. Sash Badge, 86 x 60 mm., GOLD, hallmarked “56, kokoshnik”, maker’s mark “AK” (Albert Keibel), both sides enameled, long original sash. Breast Star, 93 mm., gilt Silver, hallmarked “84”, St. Petersburg, maker’s mark “KEiBEL”, gold centre medallion with applied the Order’s cross with red-bordered, white enameled arms, centered by a finely chiseled rosette and flanked by silver rays, blue enameled outer circlet with applied order’s motto “PRO FIDE REGE ET LEGE” in gold lettering with engraved details, the whole bordered in gold, reverse with tapered vertical pin, together with awarding document for Admiral Rieunier, dating December 31st, 1893, numbered “30”, with stamp and signature of the Grand Master of ceremonies of Imperial orders Dolgoruky, with its translation of the 1st Secretary of the Imperial Embassy of Russia in Paris. Admiral Rieunier was the Minister of Navy and was awarded this order during the visit of Grand Duke Alexis to Paris in 1893, in the framework of the Franco-Russian friendship. Very rare and interesting set, of best jeweler’s quality and high appearance! I RR!
